Peek of the WeekDear Parents,
We are starting another great week! It is going to be cold this week, so please make sure your child has appropriate winter gear for going outside. Thank you! Language Arts: We will be working on Unit 10 this week. Our story this week is Young Thomas Edison. It is a biography. We will be targeting Main Idea and Details, and Monitoring and Clarifying while we are reading. For Writing, we will be working on an opinion piece and responding to literature. Our Spelling words will work with the Vowel Sound in talk. Math: We will continue Unit 5 this week. During Unit 5, we will be working on Place Value in Whole Numbers and Decimals. Please continue to work on fact fluency at home. Addition/Subtraction/Multiplication. Your child's planner will let you know which facts he/she should study each night for the Multiplication Circle test the next day. Social Studies: We will finish up our unit on Maps and Globes next week. Your child is learning the name and location of the 7 continents and 5 oceans. He/she is also learning how to read a map and why they are important. Follow our classroom on Twitter: @mrsspindler3 Have a great week! Mrs. Spindler |
